Typographic Date Poster

The course project brief presented a significant challenge due to its complexity and multitude of variables. The task at hand was to design a typographic poster representing a specific year, and for this particular project, I chose to focus on the invention of Saran Wrap. Although not often considered historically significant, Saran Wrap has profoundly impacted daily life by addressing the crucial issue of food preservation. During the late 1940s and early 1950s, preserving food was paramount, and the invention of Saran Wrap revolutionized food preservation practices indefinitely. While it may not be prominently featured in history books, its introduction fundamentally changed the landscape of food protection and preservation.

Exploration was extensive throughout this project, as evidenced by the series of images below, all scanned from A3 sketchbooks. These images illustrate the evolution of the brief and the development of the final project concept.

The materials utilized in bringing this project to life were diverse and extensive, underscoring the commitment to fulfilling the requirements of the brief.
