Entry 5: Choosing Between Briefs: Social Engagement vs. Wordless Picture Narrative
I found myself torn between two compelling briefs: Social Engagement Narrative and Wordless Picture Narrative. Both center around the theme of eating disorders, but the challenge of execution led me to a decision.
I realized that the wordless narrative would be more difficult, aligning with my goal to push my creative boundaries. My overarching themes of acceptance, belonging, recovery, and healing guided me.
Ultimately, I chose the wordless narrative, aiming to create a more approachable storybook that transcends age barriers—moving away from clinical resources like food diaries and pamphlets. I'm excited to dive deeper into this project!
